AUDITIONS
We are an inclusive society and at present do not ask potential members to audition to join the us, however we do require that you have some singing / acting ability. Dancing is a bonus, but not as essential.
If you wish to be considered for a principal role in any of our shows, you will be required to audition for this.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals for chorus are on Friday evenings from 8pm to 10pm at Brightside Primary School in Billericay. There are usually additional rehearsals for principals on Wednesday evenings.
You may not be required at all rehearsals and you will be issued with a rehearsal schedule at the beginning of each production so that you know when you are required.
We always aim to produce professional quality productions and this can be quite challenging but we are a very enthusiastic group and we try to have fun at rehearsals. When you join our society, you will become part of the BOS family all of whom share the same passion for performing.
BACKSTAGE
If performing isn’t for you, we are always in need of extra hands backstage to ensure that our shows are as professional as possible and that everything runs smoothly. There are lots of opportunities to get involved; scenery, props, costumes, backstage crew, publicity, promotions, box office, front of house.
If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, get in touch to find out more.
SHOWS
We normally put on one large scale production each year, around March, but we also do several smaller musical events throughout the year. In the past this has included concerts and shows in a day.
Our large scale productions are held at the Brentwood Theatre, 15 Shenfield Road, Brentwood, Essex. CM15 8AG.
SOCIAL EVENTS
We enjoy meeting for a variety of social gatherings outside of rehearsals; quizzes, meals out, car treasure hunts and BBQs to name a few of our recent events. A number of the cast members also sometimes go to a local pub after rehearsals on Friday nights.
Go to our Blog page to find out about our next event.
SUPPORT US
The best way you can support us is by coming to see our shows. We also have space in our show programmes for local businesses to support the society. If you would like more information about this contact us here.
